AWS Solution Architect Certification: AWS Glossary Quiz
I've started making an AWS Glossary Quiz based on the AWS Glossary.
Here's the 1st set of questions, enjoy!
Note, the 1st test may not require a user account, but the 2nd one may require to create a user on the onlinexambuilder.com website, sorry!
Here's the 2nd set (a bit harder?)
And another QUIZ - this time I'll just put it inline here. Answers at the end...
All of them are the form "What is the correct name for this concept:"?
Q1 What is the name given to this concept?
A configuration for Amazon Elasticsearch Service (Amazon ES) that distributes nodes in a cluster across two Availability Zones in the same region. Helps to prevent data loss and minimizes downtime in the event of node and data center failure. If enabled, you must have an even number of data instances in the instance count, and you also must use the Amazon Elasticsearch Service Configuration API to replicate your data for your Elasticsearch cluster.
zone awareness
Amazon VPC
AWS Config
Q3 What is the name given to this concept?
An digital document that uses the public key infrastructure (PKI) standard to verify that a public key belongs to the entity described in the certificate.
ACM
X.509 certificate
Donation button
asymmetric encryption
A set of rules that defines the conditions that AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) searches for in web requests to AWS resources such as Amazon CloudFront distributions. Specifies whether to allow, block, or count the requests.
access identifiers
access control list (ACL)
access key ID
web access control list (web ACL)
The period of time that a message is invisible to the rest of your application after an application component gets it from the queue. During this time, the component that received the message usually processes it, and then deletes it from the queue. This prevents multiple components from processing the same message.
visibility timeout
receipt timeout
read timeout
dead-letter timeout
Q6 What is the name given to this concept?
Standard measurement for the values submitted to Amazon CloudWatch as metric data. Includes seconds, percent, bytes, bits, count, bytes/second, bits/second, count/second, and none.
unit
alarm
action
basic monitoring
Q7 What is the name given to this concept?
Authentication information that is provided by AWS STS when you call an STS API action. Includes an access key ID, a secret access key, a session token, and an expiration time.
user
temporary security credentials
access identifiers
certificate key
Q8 What is the name given to this concept?
A description of how Auto Scaling should automatically scale an Auto Scaling group in response to changing demand.
scaling policy
auto scale configuration
alarm
events
Q9 What is the name given to this concept?
An active copy of another DB instance. Any updates to the data on the source DB instance are replicated to the read replica DB instance using the built-in replication feature of MySQL 5.1.
SIGNATURE file
read replica
artifact
instance group
Q10 What is the name given to this concept?
An AWS feature that lets you place the authentication information in the HTTP request query string instead of in the
Authorization
header, which enables URL-based access to objects in a bucket.query string authentication
HTTP-Query
SQL injection match condition
structured query
Q11 What is the name given to these 3 concepts?
IAM: A document defining permissions that apply to a user, group, or role; the permissions in turn determine what users can do in AWS. Typically allows access to specific actions, and can optionally grant that the actions are allowed for specific resources, like EC2 instances.
Auto Scaling: An object that stores the information needed to launch or terminate instances for an Auto Scaling group. Executing it causes instances to be launched or terminated. You can configure an alarm to invoke an Auto Scaling policy.
access control list (ACL)
policy
account
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Q12 What is the name given to this concept?
When using Amazon CloudFront to serve content with an Amazon S3 bucket as the origin, a virtual identity that you use to require users to access your content through CloudFront URLs instead of Amazon S3 URLs. Usually used with CloudFront private content.
AWS WAF
conditional parameter
blue/green deployment
origin access identity (OAI)
Q13 What is the name given to this concept?
A device, managed by AWS, that performs address translation in a private subnet, to secure inbound Internet traffic.
private IP address
NAT gateway
public subnet
PV virtualization
Q14 What is the name given to this concept?
The default route table that any new VPC subnet uses for routing. You can associate a subnet with a different route table of your choice. You can also change which route table is the main one.
main route table
route table
data table
customer gateway
A set of descriptive parameters used to create new EC2 instances in an Auto Scaling activity.
A template that an Auto Scaling group uses to launch new EC2 instances. It contains information such as the Amazon Machine Image (AMI) ID, the instance type, key pairs, security groups, and block device mappings, among other settings.
launch configuration
analysis scheme
authenticated encryption
AWS CodeDeploy agent
Q16 What is the name given to this concept?
A logical grouping of the objects in a bucket. The value is similar to a directory name that enables you to store similar data under the same directory in a bucket.
key prefix
logical name
metric name
meta data
Q17 What is the name given to this concept?
An optional string that you can add to the beginning of an AWS Import/Export log file name to prevent collisions with objects of the same name. NB AWS Import/Export is a physical storage appliance for transferring data into and out of AWS without using the internet.
Amazon Resource Name (ARN)
job prefix
ARN
attribute
Q18 What is the name given to this concept?
inline policy
key policy
managed policy
permission
Q19 What is the name given to this concept?
A system call to check on the status of each instance in an Auto Scaling group.
source/destination checking
additional authenticated data
Auto Scaling
health checkQ20 What is the name given to this concept?
A collection of IAM users. You can use them to simplify specifying and managing permissions for multiple users.
group
role
collection
set
Q21 What is the name given to this concept?
Allows individuals to sign in to different networks or services, using the same group or personal credentials to access data across all networks. External identities are granted secure access to resources in an AWS account without having to create IAM users. These external identities can come from a corporate identity store (such as LDAP or Windows Active Directory) or from a third party (such as Login with Amazon, Facebook, or Google). also supports SAML 2.0.
credential identity management (CIM)
Between two AWS accounts: Setting up a trust between the account that owns the resource (the trusting account), and the account that contains the users that need to access the resource (the trusted account).
allow
active trusted signers
delegation
access key rotation
Q24 What is the name given to this concept?
A fixed-size chunk of secure, network-attached RAM. Each one runs an instance of the Memcached service, and has its own DNS name and port. Multiple types are supported, each with varying amounts of associated memory.
NB: What on earth is "Network-attached RAM"???? Here's a paper that uses the term, apart from that it appears to be an AWS invention?
